HAROLD ASPERS

Harold Aspers (born in 1968) is a Dutch visual artist. He lived and worked in multiple cities throughout the Netherlands belonging to the top of successful Dutch architects. Nowadays he focusses on art solely which he creates from his studio in Eindhoven. His works start on the basis of a preconceived plan but while working forms and details change. They blur, blend and often disappear completely while the painting finds its own way. By stacking numerous translucent layers, the portraits are emotionally charged which gives each work a unique character. It is not at all about understanding the works but about feeling them. Aspers often works in thematic series where Natural Beauty is a recurrent theme. His work is shown at different galleries, art fairs and is part of international collections worldwide.
